Review final rule to determine your CEHRT participation options for program year 2014

Tue, 02 Sep 2014 18:50:00 GMT

CMS has released a final rule that allows providers participating in the EHR Incentive Programs to use the 2011 Edition of certified electronic health record technology (CEHRT) for calendar and fiscal year 2014.

Provider Spotlight: Dr. Walter Davis

Wed, 06 Aug 2014 17:43:00 GMT

Dr. Walt DavisDr. Walter Davis, the director of a rural health clinic and of labor and delivery at Ashley County Medical Center, a critical access hospital in Crossett, Ark., says that although his practice is located in a rural area, he is able to offer a comprehensive range of up-to-date OB and GYN managements through his electronic health record (EHR).

“I believe that this gives my patients access to the same types and levels of care that would be available in a more metropolitan area,” he said in a recent interview.

The clinic and the hospital went live with their EHRs in October 2011, and a few months later, the other hospital-owned practices, including a multi-specialty outpatient clinic and a surgical practice, followed suit. Another rural health clinic went live with their EHR in late 2013.

HITArkansas assisted the clinic and hospital with implementation of their EHR and attestation for meaningful use.
