HITArkansas Preliminary Application

HITArkansas provides assistance to priority primary care physicians, which include family practice, general practice, internal medicine, obstetric/gynecology and pediatric physicians. Other specialty providers who are interested in working with HITArkansas are invited to complete a preliminary application and to contact us with questions and for pricing parameters.

Please fill out the preliminary application to request an on-site visit from an HIT outreach specialist. The preliminary application does not represent a contract or commitment to participate in the HIT program. We will contact you to set up a visit to assess your needs and assist you with completing the Provider Service Agreement for the program.

CMS Provider registration tips

The Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive programs were slated to begin early 2011. All eligible providers who complete a Provider Service Agreement for HITArkansas must register on the CMS website in order to receive incentive payments from the federal government. Registration is now available: http://www.cms.gov/EHRIncentivePrograms/50_Registration.asp

What do I need to do prior to registering for my EHR incentives?

  • If you have chosen Medicare EHR incentives, there is a validation process to ensure that your PECOS enrollment information and tax payer identification number is correct. If it is not, this process gives you time to correct it prior to attesting to meaningful use measures.

  • Registration is not required before starting your 90 day EHR reporting period for providers seeking Medicare EHR incentives.

CMS Identity and Access Management (I&A) user ID and password

  • Eligible professionals can use the same user ID and password they use for the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). This is also the same user ID and password that is used to access PECOS.
  • If you have chosen Medicaid EHR incentives, this option will not be available until Spring 2011. Visit www.hitarkansas.com frequently for the latest updates.
