Arkansas Specialists

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) has established incentive payments for providers who implement and meaningfully use certified electronic health record (EHR) technology.

HITArkansas, a division of Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC) and the Regional Extension Center (REC) for our state, has been charged with providing technical assistance to primary care physicians, critical access hospitals and rural hospitals statewide. But what about specialists?

Specialists who install or upgrade their medical records to certified EHR systems and achieve meaningful use are eligible for the incentive payments established by ARRA. HITArkansas can help specialists reach this point, even though the REC grant does not fund support for specialists.

Specialists can contact hitarkansas@afmc.org for pricing parameters at any time. HITArkansas is pleased to work with specialists to provide start-to-finish services and assistance with EHR implementation.
